New Management Directive

Posted by: silent storm in , , , , , , , , , ,

Dear Employees,

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown of the economy. Management has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 40 years of age and above on early retirement. This scheme will be known as RAPED (Retire Aged People Early Directive).

Employees selected to be RAPED can apply to management to be eligible for the SHAFT scheme. (Special Help After Forced Termination). Employees who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program. (Scheme Covering Retired Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Management deems appropriate.

Employees who have been ice memorandum, Human Resources, Employee RelationsRAPED can only get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES. (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance). Obviously employees who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Management.

Employees who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible.

Management has always prided itself on the amount of SHIT it gives employees. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your Supervisor. They have been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

Supervisors should be aware they will be RAPED for not enforcing company policy, as all the personnel under the age of 40 years of age employed in a supervisory position within the company have been SCREWED.

Sincerely,

The Management

Officer-In-Crisis

Posted by: silent storm in , , , , , , ,

In this country where the number of degree-holders outnumbers the job vacancies offered, if you get lucky enough to be employed in the few highly regarded companies, when they tell you to jump up and down and go round in circles, it’s almost too difficult to say, “Up your arse you friggin’ tossa!”

It’s really no wonder why you always see, “… and perform other tasks from time to time” at the end of almost every job description. So you multi-task and perform the jobs of two or three people and you still get the same amount of salary. What’s even worse is when the management would berate you for not being able to carry out your job as “efficiently” as they deemed.

Some companies are more cunning though. To avoid too much grievances and even make it appear that they are actually “rewarding” the employee, they created the term OIC or Officer-in-Charge. This means that you are given a certain amount of “power” but it’s not “absolute.”

You can now sign papers “for” your bosses, handle all the concerns yourself but only with the “guidance” of the higher ups, make presentations “according to their specifications” and just be this clueless nincompoop who is there to bridge the gap between the management and its people.

These companies are so good in manipulating people that there’s actually a good chance that when you go home at night, you’d feel a certain amount of pride in what you’re doing. Except of course, when you put your hands in your pocket and notice that it is still as empty as ever, or look in the mirror and realize that you’re still wearing the same clothes you’ve been wearing for the past eight years because you still could not afford that one suit you’ve long wanted to buy – but hey, at least you still look leaner than ever. What with all the work that you do and the budget meals that you eat because that is just how much your salary can buy…

It can be a dog-eat-dog in the office.

Why Employee Training is Critical

Posted by: silent storm in , , , , , , , ,

Training is a planned effort by the organization to help its employees learn job-related knowledge, skills and abilities so they can improve their job performance.

However, the company can only do as much. How one will understand and retain skills and knowledge is still largely dependent on the employee's own ability, limitation and willingness to improve himself.

Calling all Bloggers

Posted by: silent storm in , , , , , , , , ,

I just changed the template of my blog and I was foolish enough to overlook my blogroll.

If your blog used to be linked in this site, please leave a comment in this post and I'll promptly check your blog (or the soonest I can manage, at least).

Upon scrutiny of your site (particularly your blogroll), I'll update my Love links pronto, that is of course, if I'm convinced that I have indeed included you before in my recommended links!

As I suspect that I just might be suffering from something akin to Alzheimer's, I would appreciate it if you will also refresh my memory as to where in the world wide web did we met.

Thank you and I really am sorry for the inconvenience.
